We started a small shop “Mariam Gallery for Paintings and Frames” in Amman, Jordan in 1993 where we sold paintings and frames where we built a reputation under Fadi’s leadership for honesty, reliability and professionalism, to become one of the leading galleries in the country offering a personalized service to our individual and commercial clients including the Jordan Royal family.
As an initiative led by Heyam in 2008 we later founded “Mariam Center for Arts and Crafts”, which over an eight-year period became the go to place in Jordan for arts and crafts training for thousands of students of all age groups. Mariam Center soon started cooperating with Non-Governmental Organizations for Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Jordan providing them with the means to express themselves and training to develop their skills in art and crafts when going through extremely challenging circumstances. We were also inspired later to provide tailored courses for special needs children and cancer patients as a form of therapy.
A few challenging years into the war in Syria in 2016, Fadi and Heyam who are Syrian and Jordanian respectively, decided to immigrate to Canada to secure a better future for themselves and more importantly for their three Syrian children, considering that Syrians were starting to face visa difficulties and restrictions in Jordan.
Our new chapter began in Montreal on the 19th of June 2017 when we landed with high hopes in our hearts banking on our experiences and skills to start a completely new and exciting life in Canada.
After two years with a determined focus on integration into our new home in Canada, we decided to open a similar business in Montreal on the 13th of June 2019 when we obtained the permit to open “Galerie Mariam D’art”, combining Fadi’s gallery for paintings and frames and Heyam’s art training center. Our passion for arts and crafts will be our motivation to serve our new customers as best we as can, we are sure of the support we will be receiving and thank you for your support in advance.
